Fritters (Using Alligator or Any Firm Fleshed Fish

Fried Fritter Recipe with Remoulade Dipping Sauce

Fritter recipe to be used with gator meat or any firm fleshed fish. Easy and filling with some homemade remoulade sauce on the side.


FRITTERS

2 cups all purpose flour

Season salt or dry rub

1/2 cup cornmeal

1 tablespoon baking powder

1 cup of beer

1/2 cup red pepper

1/2 cup green pepper

3/4 cup onion

1 tablespoon minced garlic

2 tablespoons pickled jalapeños, chopped

1 egg

1/4 cup corn relish (or plain corn)

1 1/2 - 2 cups alligator (or any firm fleshed fish)


Mix together all ingredients until combined. Scoop into balls and place in hot oil. Flatten with spatula and cook until golden brown on both sides. Remove and drain on paper towel. Serve with remoulade for dipping. REMOULADE 1 cup mayonnaise 1-2 tablespoons mustard 1 teaspoon horseradish Splash of hot sauce Splash of sweet pickle juice Dry rub Mix all together until smooth. Chill until serving.
